Washington (September 19, 2019) –In response to the unveiling of Speaker Pelosi’s proposed legislation aimed at curbing high drug costs, the Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP) releases the following statement, attributable to ACHP President and CEO Ceci Connolly:
“ACHP commends Congressional leaders for their continued focus on lowering the cost of prescription drugs. Efforts to hold drug manufacturers accountable for how they set prices, negotiate prices, and make them available to patients are critical to progress on controlling drug prices. We urge Congress to take immediate steps to provide consumers relief. Bipartisan, widely supported legislation like the CREATES Act, FAIR Drug Pricing Act and incentives for fee-based transparent PBMs deserves attention and can provide a win for the American public today.”
