Washington (March 27, 2019) – The Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP) commends the House Energy and Commerce Committee for its efforts to drive down the cost of prescription drugs in the United States. The legislation being marked up this week in the Health Subcommittee will help end abuses by drug manufacturers and restore competition to the pharmaceutical marketplace.
These reforms are long overdue and common sense. ACHP urges Committee members to swiftly approve these bills and move them forward for full consideration by the House of Representatives. Acting on legislation that has broad bipartisan support, such as the CREATES Act, is a critical first step. ACHP looks forward to working with Congress to enact additional reforms in the year ahead.
