On Wednesday, July 20 hosted a Quality Learning Network webinar. These are opportunities for the staff involved in quality initiatives at ACHP’s member organizations to learn from each other around quality measurement and improvement. This meeting focused on measurement updates at the Pharmacy Quality Alliance (PQA).
The PQA is a member-organization whose mission is to develop and implement medication performance measures. These measures are currently included in the CMS MA Star Ratings and the public Exchange Quality Rating System (QRS). Additionally some states utilize them to evaluate the quality in their Medicaid programs. During this web conference, Woody Eisenberg, MD, performance measurement and strategic alliances senior vice president at PQA, talked with ACHP members about the PQA’s current medication quality measurement initiatives and what is on their future agenda. He also provided insights into the measure development process and how ACHP members can become more involved.
ACHP would be interested to hear feedback and reflections on the information that was presented. Specifically, it would be helpful to know of measurement areas and initiatives where plans see the most and least value.
The slides from the webinar are attached and a recording can be accessed here. Information on the event is also available on the ACHP website.
