“E-visits” have become a popular practice for certain health providers in order to reduce arbitrary office visits. However, research concludes that this practice can lead to an increase in doctor visits, and a reduction in the doctor’s ability to see new patients. CEO at Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin Mark Huth said in the plan’s experience e-visits led to fewer office visits and increased convenience for patients.
