Security Health Plan and the greater Marshfield Clinic Health System are advocating for a bill that would reward high-performing Medicare Advantage plans with quality bonus payments. The bipartisan Medicare Advantage Quality Payment Relief Act counters the effects of benchmark caps on four and five-star health plans. Rural counties are disproportionately impacted by quality incentive losses and stagnant service. If the bill is passed, Marshfield Clinic Health System could reduce statewide Medicare Advantage premiums by up to 20 percent.
