Intermountain Healthcare has joined forces with startup MDClone to rethink how to turn data into actionable insights. The overall goal is to enable Intermountain caregivers to better understand and manage patients. The two entities plan to begin their work by looking at kidney disease and end-stage renal disease. Intermountain can use MDClone’s ability to analyze medical records to pinpoint groups of patients with all stages of kidney disease. Ultimately, the aim is to treat and prevent individuals’ progression to end-stage renal disease. Going forward, the organizations also plan to examine other clinical areas like heart failure and stroke care.
