Alliance of Community Health Plans Launches New Web Site

New Resource Explains Significant Role ACHP and Members Play in Health Care Improvement

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP) today unveiled a new Web site to better explain the significant role that it and its members play in improving health care and care quality in the United States.  The site – which includes a newsroom, media kit, spokespersons page, and information about ACHP members – is accessible on the Internet at

The site’s “Health Care Quality” section is a one-stop shop for individuals interested in learning more about this topic.  It explains the various meanings of health care quality, provides ACHP’s position on quality, compiles current publications and resources on quality-related issues, and directs users to ACHP-authored publications on quality.

A “Learning and Improvement” section is devoted to ACHP’s unique educational programs, such as the Advancing Better Care initiative, that helps ACHP members improve patient engagement and activation in health care decision-making.  The “Policy Advocacy” section discusses ACHP’s support for the quality provisions in the Medicare reform bill and will explain ACHP positions on quality-related measures pending before Congress and federal agencies.

Also featured on the new Web site is a section devoted to the ACHP Foundation, an independent, publicly supported arm of ACHP that conducts research to enhance health care quality.  A publications library offers easy access to ACHP’s latest reports, issue briefs and newsletters.

ACHP will further enhance the site in coming months with the addition of the Quality Daybook, a compilation of the latest events pertaining to health improvement and quality.
