- To promote innovation, quality improvement and increased efficiency in health care, we need to improve access to high-quality data. The federal government has made it a priority to expand access to and improve the quality of health care data, a major step forward.
- The Department of Health and Human Services' (DHHS’) Open Government strategy calls for federal agencies to create practical, public access to internal information.
- The strategy involves three steps to expand access to its data: leverage nongovernmental partners and applications, improve data iteratively and create awareness to maximize the power of the data to improve public health.
