- The White House has announced that President Obama will examine tougher efforts to fight fraud in Medicare and Medicaid in a memorandum to be signed today.
- The memo directs federal departments and agencies to expand the use of audits for improper or invalid payments. This could save the government up to $2 billion over the next three years.
- This is intended to illustrate the President's effort to incorporate Republican ideas into his health plan and to combat fraud and waste in our health care system.
