System Vendors See Gold in PCMH

- Two products have been introduced to the health care market that are tailored for the PCMH model: one for insurers and care providers, the other for patients.
- Primary care physicians participating in a pilot project with MDdatacor will use a system known as MDinsight to help automate patient data from various sources. The system includes electronic medical records as well as practice-management, lab and registry systems. MDinsight allows doctors and patients to share data with participating medical home providers via an internet portal and also analyze patient data with evidence-based guidelines.
- Another product, the Wellness ToolBox from PatientCentral Technologies uses graphing, logging and calendar functions to keep patients on track with their health management goals. Tools in this product include a calendar, graphs and logs which allow patients to see the relationship between what they eat, their blood sugar, blood pressure, need for medication and weight.
