Independent Health and Shared Mobility Inc. have launched a new Reddy bike share program in Buffalo, New York. With more than 30 new bike stations placed throughout the city, the program is a step toward making the city more bike-friendly and aims to promote an active lifestyle among residents and visitors.
Independent Health teamed up with Buffalo RiverWorks, a popular sports and entertainment complex in New York, for its fifth consecutive year to host an open house for fitness enthusiasts on Saturday, July 2. Visitors could also participate in indoor boot camp classes, outdoor games, and water-related activities including kayaking and paddle boarding.
Independent Health is partnering with YMCA Buffalo Niagara to provide free, outdoor community exercise classes. The program, Fitness in the Parks, is in its fifth consecutive year and consists of 60-minute classes taught by YMCA-certified instructors. The program aims to make fitness more accessible to the community.
For 25 years, the American Diabetes Association has raised awareness about diabetes through the Tour de Cure. The funds raised contribute to research and programs that help the 140,000 children and adults in Western New York who suffer from diabetes.
