Tufts Health Plan has opened a new 4,000 square foot office space in downtown Worcester, Mass. The offices will be used to support clients in central Massachusetts with employer-sponsored and Medicare plans. It will also be used by Tufts Health Plan subsidiary Network Health to aid consumers in signing up for subsidized health plans via the state’s insurance exchange, the Health Connector. Tufts Health Plan said specially trained “Issuer Application Assisters” from Network Health, which serves mostly lower-income people, would temporarily be housed at the Worcester location. Network Health was chosen by the state as one of the insurers authorized to assist consumers in making the transition.
