Park Nicollet Methodist, Regions, Lakeview and Hudson Hospitals Recognized as Leaders in LGBT Healthcare Equality

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation has recognized four HealthPartners hospitals – Park Nicollet Methodist, Regions, Lakeview and Hudson – for their commitment to providing equitable, inclusive care for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) patients and employees. The hospitals were named Leaders in LGBT Healthcare Equality in the Healthcare Equality Index (HEI) 2014 report, an annual survey conducted by the HRC. All four hospitals earned the recognition for meeting key criteria for equitable care, including non-discrimination and training criteria for LGBT patients and employees, a guarantee of equal visitation for same-sex partners and parents and LGBT health education for staff members. Methodist has been recognized by the HRC as a LGBT health care equity leader since 2009 and has one of the state’s largest transgender health service programs. Regions Hospital was also included in the 2013 HEI, while Lakeview and Hudson hospitals are being recognized for the first time.
