Latina women were nearly twice as likely to be screened for breast cancer after they were visited in their homes by trained community health workers, according to a Kaiser Permanente study published in the journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention. The study indicates the visits boosted screening rates by nearly 8 percent.
