King County’s Wellness Program Beats the Odds

In an article on the success of King County, Washington’s Healthy Incentives employee wellness program,  the Puget Sound Health Alliance recognized Group Health Cooperative was recognized for its efforts in lowering county health care costs by $4,000 per person per year “while providing higher-quality services than the other providers in the Seattle area.” Between 2010 and 2011, patients switching to Group Health reduced county costs by $6.5 million and saved employees $2.2 million.
