For the second year in a row, Kaiser Permanente in Southern California leads the nation in breast cancer screening rates for Medicare patients, ranking No. 1 out of nearly 400 Medicare health plans across the nation, according to the 2013 National Committee for Quality Assurance’s (NCQA) Quality Compass® data. The NCQA Quality Compass for Medicare is the nation’s most widely used indicator of outstanding clinical performance and patient experience. It tracks 35 effectiveness-of-care measures and has reported that Kaiser Permanente is the highest performing Medicare plan in the nation with 16 No. 1 rankings. No other health plan received more than four No.1 rankings.
