Kaiser Permanente Northwest’s Medical Centers Named Leaders in LGBT Healthcare Equality

Kaiser Permanente Northwest’s two medical centers, Sunnyside and Westside, have both been recognized as leaders in lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) health care equality in the Healthcare Equality Index 2014 report. The index is an annual survey conducted by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation, the educational arm of the country’s largest LGBT organization. For the past five years, Kaiser Permanente has consistently achieved the status for all of its 38 hospitals across the nation since becoming the first health care provider and hospital network to be designated as a leader in 2010 by the HRC Foundation.
