Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States is No. 1 in the nation out of nearly 500 commercial health plans for breast cancer screening and four other quality measures, according to the 2014 National Committee for Quality Assurance’s (NCQA) Quality Compass data. This is the third year in a row that Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States is No. 1 in the U.S. for breast cancer screening. The annual Quality Compass data assessed the performance of health plans around the nation on clinical and service standards, including medication management and respiratory conditions. Of the 48 Quality Compass clinical measures evaluated in NCQA’s Private Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2014-2015, Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States was rated No. 1 in five of them: breast cancer screenings, comprehensive diabetes care – blood pressure control, colorectal cancer screening, appropriate treatment for children with upper respiratory infection and childhood immunization status.
