HealthPartners Surgeon David Dries, M.D., Named Master of Critical Care Medicine

David Dries, M.D., was designated a Master of Critical Care Medicine (MCCM) by the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM), the highest honor bestowed by the world’s leading organization of critical care physicians. The designation was conferred at the SCCM Critical Care Congress in San Francisco on Jan. 11. Since its founding in 1970, the society has designated only 53 individuals as masters.

Dries joined HealthPartners in 1999. He is an assistant medical director for surgery in HealthPartners Medical Group and a professor of surgery and anesthesiology, a clinical adjunct professor of emergency medicine and the John F. Perry, Jr. endowed chair of trauma surgery at the University of Minnesota.
