Please join us on Thursday, November 30 at 3:00 p.m. ET to discuss ways of improving collaboration between criminal justice and behavioral health care systems. We encourage you to circulate the event invite to others on your team who would be interested in this discussion.

For this webinar, ACHP is partnering with the Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center, a national organization that works at the federal, state and local levels to pursue criminal justice system improvements. As part of its focus on the intersection of behavioral health and criminal justice policy, CSG would like to engage ACHP plans in a discussion about how criminal justice comes up for them, what steps they take currently (or would like to take in the future) for those members who are in the system and what would be helpful to them moving forward. Discussion questions will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • What is your plan doing in this space?
  • What would your plan need to be able to do to address the needs of members with mental illness and substance use disorders who:
    • Have a history of involvement in the criminal justice system
    • Are transitioning from incarceration to community, or
    • Are under community supervision (probation or parole)?
  • What happens to Medicaid coverage in your state when members are incarcerated?

The log-in information is below. Please let us know if you have any questions. We are looking forward to a great discussion.

The event will be held in ACHP’s online training center at https://achp.webex.com. (Please plan to arrive in the training center 5 minutes early.) On the training center tab of the homepage, click “Join” to the right of the “Improving Collaboration between Criminal Justice and Behavioral Health Care Systems” meeting title. You will be prompted to enter your name, email address and the meeting password, which is ACHP. The loading process may require you to install specific add-ins to your Web browser. To do this, right click the “Install” feature that is displayed on the top of your screen (below your tool bar). The installation will take a few minutes. After you are logged-in and have successfully installed the requirements, a screen will pop-up on your computer with the dial-in number and user ID needed to access the audio portion of the conference.

Note: Cisco has recently made some security enhancements to its WebEx application. If you are joining the meeting from a mobile device, you will need to upgrade the software (by downloading it from the app store) before being able to join the web conference.
