Events

ACHP pursues an intensive agenda of meetings, Web conferences and teleconferences that engage health plan staff at all levels within our member organizations. Certain events bring together professionals engaged in a common area of work, such as our Legislative Committee conference calls, Medical Directors Council meetings or Communications Council programming. Others events, like our self-funded business Web conference series, address broad topics of interest to a variety of health plan officials. To encourage an intimate and honest learning environment, all events and event materials are limited to our members and guests. Click on an event below to learn more about ACHP's work in support of better health care in our communities and nationally.  ACHP Patient-Centered Medical Home Collaborative (Invitation Only)
Web Conference

The Medical Home concept, first presented as a model of care for pediatricians caring for children with special needs in the 1960s and 1970, has evolved as the utility of the model was recognized in treating adult, chronically-ill patients.  The Patient-Centered Medical Home (PC-MH) model has recently emerged as an approach that combines medical homeness with patient-centered care.
ACHP will host a collaborative to create a robust medical home model that simultaneously addresses customer experience, health outcomes, and per capita costs and leverages the close plan-providers ties that characterize our plans. This web conference is the first of this collaborative.

 Priority Healths Diagnostic Imaging Program
Web Conference

During this Web Conference, Dr. John Fox MD, MHA, AVP of Medical Affairs at Priority Health will discuss their approach to managing the demand for diagnostic imaging in the Michigan Market. He will highlight the key drivers of success and discuss the lessons learned as they developed their program.

Current medical management strategies focus on moderating traditional approaches to meet the needs of both. Prior authorization processes have evolved into prior notification systems with decision support for providers.  Open Access has replaced the need for patients to obtain referrals from primary care physicians to see specialists. The ability of these new programs to contain costs and ensure appropriate delivery of care is being tested by many ACHP plans.
