The Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP) applauds the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) on the release of its annual report on the State of Health Care Quality.
Patricia S. Smith, President and CEO of ACHP, commented: “We are pleased that this years report continues to show improvements. The report serves as an important reminder that efforts to improve the quality of care require constant attention and commitment. Setting standards, measuring against those standards, and making those measures accessible to patients, providers, and purchasers are essential components of building an accountable health care system. An essential next step is expanding what we know about the care delivered to Americans by including more patients who are covered by commercial plans, Medicaid and the traditional Medicare system.”
