Today, the Alliance of Community Health Plans re-released its commercial HealthPlan Performance Gauge to a national membership of 14 leading health plans and provider organizations. This interactive database, which uses National Commission for Quality Assurance data, helps ACHP members understand and improve the performance of their commercial health plans.
Today’s re-release incorporates a new method of combining performance on individual measures into scores for clusters of measures (i.e. cardiac care) or overall performance (i.e. all HEDIS measures). These new Gauge produces results that mirror the US News & World Report “America’s Best Health Plans” rankings and allows plans to look at performance and improvement on individual measures, groups of measures and over time. ACHP also supplied its members with a customized priorities matrix to aid in improving their rankings in the future.
ACHP has also created HealthPlan Performance Gauges that measure the performance of Medicare and Medicaid health plans. The newest HealthPlan Performance Gauge, released in late January, measures plan financial performance.
ACHP’s HealthPlan Performance Gauges are one of the benefits of ACHP membership. More information about these analysis products is available here.
