Community-Based Health Plans Again Top National Rankings

Alliance of Community Health (ACHP) member organizations lead NCQA’s Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2014-2015 with 9 of the nation’s top Medicare plans, 6 of the top 10 plans in the commercial rankings and 3 of the top 10 Medicaid plans. An additional 23 plans are among the top 5 commercial plan providers in their state. The 2014-2015 rankings are available on NCQA’s website.

“The NCQA rankings provide consumers, employers and other purchasers with the information they need to choose the best health plans. The high performance of ACHP members demonstrates our commitment to delivering affordable, high-quality coverage to our communities,” said ACHP President and CEO Patricia Smith.

NCQA’s measurement drives quality improvement that directly affects more than 130 million Americans nationwide. Health plans are ranked based on clinical performance, member satisfaction and NCQA accreditation. NCQA publishes its Health Insurance Plan Rankings annually.

ACHP member Tufts Health Plan in Watertown, Mass., was named the No. 1 private health insurance plan and the No. 1 Medicaid health insurance plan, known as Network Health. “This tremendous recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to providing affordable, high-quality health care coverage to our members no matter their age or life circumstance,” said CEO James Roosevelt, Jr.
