ACHP among most influential

Seven leaders affiliated with ACHP member plans were named among Modern Healthcare’s annual Top 100 Most Influential People in Health Care, a list released last week that includes President Barack Obama and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.

At spot number nine is George Halvorson. The outgoing chairman of Kaiser Permanente has been featured every year since the list began in 2003.

President and CEO of Geisinger Health System Glenn Steele Jr., M.D., Ph.D. ranked for the fifth time – this year, at spot 56.

In her first year on the list, Mary Brainerd, president and CEO of HealthPartners, ranks number 66.

Scott Armstrong, Group Health Cooperative President and CEO, sits at 82 in his third time on the list.

Two Intermountain Healthcare leaders rank at 49 and 99. Charles Sorenson, M.D., President and CEO, and Brent James, M.D., chief quality officer and executive director of the Institute for Health Care Delivery Research.

Rounding out the list at 100 is Presbyterian Health Services president and CEO Jim Hinton in his rookie year ranking.
