Four ACHP Members Named J.D. Power “Customer Champions”


WASHINGTON, D.C. — In conjunction with FORTUNE Custom Publishing, J.D. Power has named Capital District Physicians’ Health Plan (Albany, N.Y.), Health Partners (Minneapolis, Minn.), Independent Health (Buffalo, N.Y.) and SelectHealth (Murray, Utah) to its list of 2014 “Customer Champions.”

ACHP Members Rated Among Top Medicare Plans in the Country


WASHINGTON, D.C. —Seven members of the Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP) received 5 stars from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for their combined Medicare Advantage and prescription drug (Part D) programs, the highest score awarded to health plans participating in the Medicare program. Only 11 plans (contracts) in the country received the 5-star rating for their combined Medicare Advantage and Part D offerings. An additional 2 plans offered by ACHP members received 5 stars for their stand-alone Medicare plans (Part C).

Community-Based Health Plans Lead National Rankings


WASHINGTON, D.C. —This year’s National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) rankings of health plans are once again topped by Alliance for Community Health Plans member organizations, with all 10 of the nation’s top ten Medicare plans, 5 of the top ten plans in the commercial rankings and 5 of the top ten plans in the Medicaid rankings offered by ACHP members. The 2013 rankings are available on NCQA’s website.

Hospital Readmissions Drop Under CDPHP, Albany Med Partnership

A partnership between CDPHP and Albany Medical Center that focuses on patient education, bedside support and coordination of care after discharge has reduced hospital readmissions by 40 percent in its first year.

Geisinger’s Renowned ProvenCare® Program Launches Three New Orthopaedic Offerings: Total Hip, Total Knee and Hip Fracture

Geisinger has launched three new orthopedic programs: ProvenCare Hip Fracture, ProvenCare Total Hip and ProvenCare Total Knee, which together have produced a 50 percent decrease in readmissions and a 10 percent reduction in length-of-stay figures for total hip replacements. – See more at:
