In our latest innovation profile, ACHP profiles HealthPartners’ work to reduce the incidence and costs of childhood obesity in areas of Minnesota through community partnerships that reach beyond clinical care.
PowerUp targets the non-clinical factors that contribute to health outcomes for children ages 3 to 11. The HealthPartners program allies with schools, businesses, food retailers, childcare providers, churches and local governments to help spread the the importance of exercise and healthy eating for children. Programming has reached more than 20,000 children and families so far, the report notes.
HealthPartners’ PowerUp is changing the culture around food and activity, engaging the community, creating programs and supporting clinical interventions in both the health care system and the community.
